SHRUTI a member of APFHD, from Nepal launched their website today. APFHD hosting this website and offering free hosting to all of its member organizations. We at APFHD encourage all of our members to formalize their Self Help Groups (SHG) and willing to provide necessary support.

PAKISTAN: Workshop on Hearing Loss
Danishkadah a member of APFHD, from Pakistan organized a workshop on Hearing Loss with Pakistan Association of Inclusive Education (PAIE) with aim to raise awareness among educators about people who are hard or hearing and deafened, and Deaf as well. here is the report of workshop.

SHRUTI - Association of Hard of Hearing and Deafened in Nepal
We have very encouraging news from Nepal: According to Ms. Neeta Keshary Bhattarai and Mr. Maheswor Ghimire who are the participants of the regional workshop on hard of hearing and deafened in March 2012, the National Association of Hard of hearing and Deafened Nepal (SHRUTI) has been established recently in Nepal. Ms. Neeta Keshary Bhattarai will be the President of SHURTI while Mr. Maheswor Ghimire will be the Vice President of SHURTI.

APCD/JICA Project Workshop, 12-13 July 2012
President, Vice President, and Secretary General of Asia-Pacific Federation of the Hard of Hearing and Deafened (APFHD), were invited by JICA/APCD for the subject workshop. Where we had the opportunity to introduce APFHD to the participants came from all of Asia-Pacific countries.

Asia-Pacific Regional Workshop on Hard of Hearing and Deafened
For the first time in the history, the Asia-Pacific Regional Workshop on Hard of Hearing and Deafened was organized jointly by Danishkadah (Pakistan), Center for Research and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CED) (Vietnam), Asia-Pacific Development Center on Disability (APCD) and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), at APCD Training Building Bangkok, from 29 February to 2 March 2012.
In this workshop the representatives who are Hard of Hearing and Deafened from Bangladesh, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Papua New Guinea, Thailand, and Vietnam founded thier regional network named Asia-Pacific Federation of the Hard of Hearing and Deafened (APFHD).
